Dear [FIRSTNAME],
Thank you again for being part of this year's UMJC Prayer Campaign. We have prayed together for 49 days to prepare the way for Messiah's return as king over Israel and all the nations, and now it's time to rejoice, as the Torah says:
You shall count seven weeks; begin to count the seven weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain. Then you shall keep Shavuot, the festival of weeks, for the LORD your God, contributing a freewill offering in proportion to the blessing that you have received from the LORD your God. Rejoice before the LORD your God—you and your sons and your daughters, your male and female slaves, the Levites resident in your towns, as well as the strangers, the orphans, and the widows who are among you—at the place that the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for his name. (Deut. 16:9-11)
For Shavuot, we will gather our version of the "offering in proportion to the blessing you have received." You may have been setting aside a dollar each day as you prayed through the counting of the omer, or you may have some other amount to contribute. You can bring your offering to your congregation, if it is part of the UMJC, or you can send it in to: UMJC, 529 Jefferson St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. If you'd rather contribute online, just go to www.umjc.org, find the Donate link, and send me an email at rebrez@umjc.org, saying that your contribution is for the Shavuot offering.
We will be sending half the offering to multi-generational efforts in Israel, and applying the other half to multi-generational efforts within the UMJC. Thank you for being a partner in this bountiful offering through your prayers and gifts!
In Yeshua,
Rabbi Russ Resnik
