Kabbetz HaEsrim: Gathering of the Twenties is a regional event that has been hosted by the UMJC 20s committee for about five years now. Its intention from the beginning has been to bring people together for fellowship, learning, and exciting, fun times. Kabbetz HaEsrim West 2010 was in Seattle, in March and was a great success. With about thirty attendees, it was most encouraging! Rabbi Jason Forbes, Rabbi Jason Sobel, and a panel of guests shared throughout conference sessions ways in which the messianic community needs to come together, forgive one another for wrongdoings, and move forward toward a messianic Judaism that is powerfully represented by the love of Messiah Yeshua. As one participant put it: “This event is like a breath of fresh air – to be around like-minded people in community – it’s just awesome!” If you have not yet come to Kabbetz HaEsrim, the time is not up! Join us in Hartford, Connecticut, April 16 - 18 for the North East gathering, where twenties will learn from great teachers such as Paul Saal, Joshua Brumbach, and Benjamin Ehrenfeld! Finally, in Cary, North Carolina, from April 30 to May 2 twenties will enjoy hearing from Jamie Cowen, Seth Klayman, and Joshua Brumbach about building our community! Please look for information and registration under the Coming Events sidebar. Register today! We hope to see you there!
UMJC Twenties Involvement Have you ever wondered just how stuff gets done in the UMJC for the twenties group? The UMJC twenties committee is a group of six to eight volunteers who help to plan major events such as Kabbetz HaEsrim and events at the National UMJC conference, as well as organize communication in the form of e-mails and newsletters. This year, the committee is hoping to do more to bring us together! A UMJC Twenties website is underway currently, and we have a group on Facebook, which you can join! In addition to these elements, we’re looking for more people to get involved directly! In the next year, we will also be accepting applications to serve on UMJC 20s committee. If you’re interested in helping the twenties in anyway, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . What are your gifts and talents? How would you like to share them? Let us know! Julie David, UMJC 20s committee chair
