As an approved school of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC), Messianic Jewish Theological Institute (MJTI) serves the Messianic Jewish movement by providing advanced education and training for those seeking ordination within the UMJC. MJTI also furnishes educational opportunities for any qualified students who seek an in-depth understanding of Messianic Judaism that is academically sound, spiritually vibrant, and sensitive to the demands imposed by both the past and the future.
MJTI consists of two schools:
- The School of Jewish Studies (SJS)
- Offers a fully distance-learning Master of Jewish Studies degree, with concentrations in Scripture, Rabbinic Literature, or Interdisciplinary Study, all taught from a Messianic Jewish perspective
- The Rabbinical Program
- Offers practical courses in congregational leadership. The Rabbinical Program also provides spiritual and vocational direction for Rabbinical candidates. While SJS is a distance learning program, this program offers intensive, face-to-face courses given in conjunction with UMJC conferences and retreats.
MJTI is an approved school of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations. We offer the courses required for the UMJC Madrikh (Licensure) Certificate and Smicha (Ordination).

"Make your Torah study a fixed practice"- R. Shammai (Pirke Avot 1:15)
UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES TO EARN A DEGREE AND QUALIFY FOR UMJC S’MICHA (ORDINATION)
The Netzer David International Yeshiva (NDY) was founded in 1998 and is associated with St. Petersburg Seminary and Yeshiva which was founded in 1983.
The Yeshiva offers a certificate program as well as several fully licensed degrees (B.A., M.A., M.R.S. [Master of Rabbinic Studies], and D.Min.). Additionally, as an "approved school" by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC), the Yeshiva's courses qualify a candidate for either "madrikh" (licensure) or "s'micha" (ordination) by the UMJC. The Faculty is drawn from among an international group of recognized, well-credentialed, and messianically-oriented professors with a reputation for effective communication.
Many of the NDY courses are available through distance learning, including the entire M.A. in Jewish studies degree. Additionally, all NDY distance courses are available at all times, any time during the year. This allows a student to move through the program at his or her own schedule and pace and not be tied down to a specific, rigid, pre-determined term or semester schedule.
