| Podcast: What is the Great Miracle of Hanukkah? |

Hanukkah commemorates the improbable victory of the Maccabees over Israel's Selucid oppressors, who had prohibited the observance of the Torah, persecuted the faithful, and defiled the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. In addition, during this season, we recall a miracle, when the one-day supply of ritually pure oil kindled the Temple's menorah for eight days! This podcast explores biblical and rabbinic texts to highlight yet another miracle-perhaps the central miracle of the festival. Our teacher, Jason Palmer, recently received ordination from the UMJC, and is a member of Congregation Ohr Chadash in Clearwater, Florida.
