Week Three of counting the Omer is Sunday evening, April 27, through Saturday evening, May 3.

The emphasis for our third week is renewal in the Spirit within our local congregations, especially the congregation that we’re a part of. The early Yeshua community in Jerusalem serves as an example of spiritual renewal and an inspiration for our prayers.

Day by day they continued with one mind, spending time at the Temple and breaking bread from house to house. They were sharing meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord was adding to their number those being saved. (Acts 2:46-47 TLV)

Following Leviticus 23:15-17, we count the weeks from our deliverance from Egypt to our encounter with Adonai on Mt Sinai — the period from the resurrection of Messiah to the outpouring of the Spirit on Shavuot (Acts 2).

Our seven-week prayer campaign this year focuses on spiritual renewal, starting with personal renewal and culminating in prayer for the promised renewal and restoration of the Jewish people, as foretold by the prophet Joel:

So, it will be afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh.

We've created a digital Omer guide to help direct your daily prayer.
